CRUISING SLOOP |
|
The present
project is a one-off for a client from Rosario, Argentina, he desire to
cruise sailing in a very sporting manner. Also a potential winner in the
race course is a close second desire. We go for a simple deck layout free
of genoas and runners, the boat must be sailed close to it tops speeds with
just two people. The rig is in carbon and the backstay will give headstay
tension via a hydraulic ram hidden under deck. Construction is with unidirectional
and biaxial E-glass fibbers consolidated over foam core using epoxy resin.
The keel is intended to maximize stability, a steel fin with laminar lead
bulb was chosen. A fully carbon rudder is a natural choice for this boat
and a lower self aligning bearing will make steering a pleasure. The interior
shows a 2.1 m. saloon, integrated with the nave. Station and galley area
giving a spacious ambient. Two separate cabins with big double berths were
required with two toilets. To keep weights low every interior member that
could do a structural function will do it. |
