IMS CRUISER / RACER

This
is a typical IMS cruiser racer for racing in the Buenos Aires circuit. This
is an extremely IMS boat, with no concessions. The mast will be in carbon
custom designed and using pre-pegs with an Autoclave. The rudder also will
be fully constructed in carbon. All the fibers are from SP and the 80% will
be unidirectional E-glass and the rest fabrics.
The resin is epoxi to be consolidated with vacuum and post cured in a custom
oven for 20 hours at recommended temperatures. Here simplicity is again
a must, so we eliminate and/or hide every fitting we can. The keel is in
lead with a pre-made system to alter its vertical center of gravity, so
rating optimization is done faster. Chainplates were located at the sheer
and only one track did all the work for the fore sails. Forestay tension
is via a pair of winches on deck. The interior is surprisingly comfortable
and roomy rising the resale value of this boat. |
